Joseph Lee

Managing Partner

Joseph Lee is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Kairous Capital, with over 20 years of experience in private equity and venture capital across Southeast Asia and Greater China. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from McMaster University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Joseph began his investment career as a founding member of the Private Equity Division at Kuwait Finance House, where he managed regional funds and executed cross-border investments. He has successfully led IPOs in the UK, Hong Kong, and China. He is also Vice President and Council Member of the Malaysia-China Digital Cooperation Council (MCDCC), where he promotes bilateral collaboration in digital innovation and investment.

At Kairous, Joseph leads the firm’s fundraising and strategic partnership efforts, ensuring the fund is well-capitalised and aligned with investor objectives. He specialises in cross-border investor engagement and plays a key role in shaping the firm’s long-term investment direction. Leveraging his deep network across Southeast Asia and China, he sources high-quality deals and fosters cross-border collaborations, driving value creation through impactful partnerships and ensuring investments lead to meaningful exits.

See Toh Kean Yaw is the Founding Partner of Kairous Capital, with over 20 years of experience in accountancy and finance, and 10 years in the asset management industry. He holds a Master of Business Studies from the University of Portsmouth and is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). His extensive career includes senior leadership roles in multiple listed companies including Ire-Tex Corporation Berhad, where he oversaw group-level corporate finance, investor relations, M&A strategy, and financial operations.

See Toh plays a pivotal role in driving investment performance through strategic portfolio governance, financial engineering, value creation and exit planning at Kairous. He specialises in guiding companies through critical growth phases, including pre-IPO preparation, mergers and acquisitions, and operational transformation. With a proven track record of successfully listing companies on stock exchanges in the UK, Hong Kong, and China, he brings invaluable insight into capital market readiness.

ADRIAN HIA

Partner

Adrian Hia is a Partner at Kairous Capital, where he leads investment execution and strategic growth initiatives across Southeast Asia. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool and is the Treasurer General of the Malaysia Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA), actively contributing to the region’s investment ecosystem. As the earliest team member of Kairous, Adrian has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s footprint across Greater China and ASEAN, and played a key role in securing fund licenses in Malaysia and Hong Kong. His leadership has earned him recognition in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 (2020) and Tatler Asia’s Most Influential(2021).

Adrian oversees the Investment Team and ensures alignment of investment decisions with the fund’s strategic direction. He plays an active role in post-investment value creation, working closely with portfolio founders to drive growth, scale operations, and prepare for expansion or exit. His experience spans venture capital, fundraising advisory, and capital markets, including IPO exposure in both Hong Kong and the U.S.

WANG TI

Partner

Wang Ti is a Partner at Kairous Capital, where he leads investment efforts and strategic initiatives across China and in healthcare sector. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Fudan University. Before joining Kairous, he accumulated over 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, having held multiple roles at biotech and multinational pharmaceutical companies, including Eli Lilly, where he developed deep expertise in drug development, medical marketing, and corporate management. He later co-founded Carelinker, a digital health startup focused on pharmacy-based chronic disease management and patient engagement.  

At Kairous, Wang Ti plays a central role in bridging cross-border opportunities between China and Southeast Asia. He supports portfolio companies in supply chain optimisation, technology localisation, and market access strategies by leveraging China’s advanced manufacturing and healthcare innovation. Leveraging his expertise, he provides the market know-how with China-validated business models to Southeast Asia, ensuring the replication of proven successes while tailoring strategies to regional needs. Wang Ti also leads our Healthcare Fund , which focuses on early stage healthcare investment.

LEE TENG HAU

Venture Capital – Investment Director

Teng Hau holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Before joining Kairous Capital, he built his foundation in venture building, business development, and capital raising through roles at Owners Circle and Crystal Group. His work involved strategic planning and growth initiatives for startups and corporates, giving him hands-on experience across business strategy, market expansion, and early-stage ventures.

At Kairous Capital, Teng Hau leads the firm’s venture capital investments in Southeast Asia and China, with a focus on early-stage tech and digitally enabled companies. He has sourced and led investments in high-growth ventures such as FastCo, ORA, PangoCDP, and Coolmate. Beyond deal execution, he has been instrumental in establishing Kairous’ investment infrastructure in Southeast Asia and plays a key role in post-investment management—overseeing financial and operational performance, supporting portfolio fundraising, and enabling regional expansion initiatives 

DESMOND LOW

Venture Capital – Investment Manager

Desmond Low is an Investment Manager at Kairous Capital, where he focuses on early-stage venture investments across Southeast Asia. He holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Sunway University. He began his career in corporate finance and assurance, before moving into financial due diligence at a Big Four firm. There, he specialised in evaluating mid-market transactions across a range of industries. Motivated by the desire to participate in the full investment lifecycle, he joined Kairous to pursue his interest in venture capital and long-term value creation.

At Kairous, Desmond spends his time speaking with founders, evaluating opportunities, and analyzing data across a broad range of industries and use cases—including financial services, retail and e-commerce, healthcare, education, enterprise resource planning, and artificial intelligence. Outside of work, Desmond enjoys long walks and food hunting—small rituals that keep him grounded as he continues to grow in the venture ecosystem.

WONG XI RONG

Investment Manager

Xi Rong began his professional journey at Accenture Malaysia as a Consulting Analyst, guiding Financial Services clients through digital transformation initiatives. He later co-founded Whitebalanced Studio, a comprehensive creative photography studio, and led Cloude Integrated, an e-commerce video firm specializing in social media-optimized ad content. Xi Rong holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Commerce from Monash University, with a focus on Economics, Banking, and Finance, and enriched his expertise through an International Student Exchange Program at Warwick Business School.

At Kairous Capital, Xi Rong serves as an Investment Manager and a key member of the ASEAN Venture Capital Fund team. He drives the sourcing and evaluation of high-potential investment opportunities across Southeast Asia, performing in-depth market research, due diligence, and deal-structuring. His post-investment efforts focus on value-add, fostering portfolio company growth through strategic guidance and opportunistic collaboration.   

RANDY TAN

Private Equity – Investment Director

Randy Tan is the Investment Director for Private Equity at Kairous Capital, with a background spanning private equity, venture capital, growth investing, business turnaround, and IPO advisory. He holds a first-class honours degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Randy began his career at a leading engineering consultancy in Singapore before transitioning into investment roles, gaining extensive experience revitalising businesses across the F&B and manufacturing sectors.

At Kairous, Randy initially served as Operations Director, supporting the expansion of China-based portfolio companies into Southeast Asia via Malaysia. He now focuses on private equity investments, particularly in growth-stage companies across Malaysia and Singapore. Known for his pragmatic approach and operational insight, he partners closely with founders to scale businesses and enhance enterprise value. Passionate about entrepreneurship, he thrives on building long-term partnerships and delivering tangible outcomes—both in business and, occasionally, on the football pitch.

TAN WIUN KIAT

Private Equity – Investment Director

Wiun Kiat is an Investment Director at Kairous Capital with a strong foundation in actuarial science and a deep track record in corporate finance, M&A, and strategic investment. He holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies with distinction from the Australian National University and has diverse experience across top conglomerates, family offices, a global FMCG group, a listed offshore company, and one of Asia’s leading life insurers. His experience spans strategic planning, business expansion, and M&A execution across multiple sectors including healthcare, consumer goods, and infrastructure.

As Investment Director at Kairous, Wiun Kiat focuses on private equity investments across Southeast Asia, with a particular interest in consumer health, functional F&B, and cross-border expansion. He works closely with founders to shape growth strategies, fine-tune operations, and support execution. Leveraging his broad corporate background and on-the-ground deal experience, he brings a practical lens to value creation. Outside of work, Wiun Kiat enjoys food hunting, keeping up with emerging trends, and recharging through a good game of badminton.

VINZ YAP

Private Equity – Investment Manager

Vinz Yap began his career at Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) [KWAP], Malaysia’s national pension fund, where he served as an Associate in the Private Equity team with a focus on infrastructure fund investments. He later transitioned into portfolio monitoring and direct investment roles at Karrin Associates. Vinz holds a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (First Class Honours) from UCSI University and is a CFA Charterholder.

At Kairous Capital, Vinz serves as an Investment Manager and is a key member of the SME Transformation Fund team. He plays an active role in evaluating investment opportunities across various sectors including logistics, aquaculture, agriculture, consumer retail, waste management, and beauty & personal care. As a strong advocate for cultivating T-shaped talents, Vinz is keen on developing cross-disciplinary capabilities, with a growing focus on ESG and sustainable investing as key areas of future interest.

SIOW KHIN SHEN

Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation Manager

Khin Shen is the Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation Manager at Kairous Capital, where he oversees performance tracking, operational improvements, and strategic value creation initiatives across the firm’s portfolio companies in Southeast Asia and Greater China. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business (Finance) from the University of Hertfordshire and is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Prior to joining Kairous, he was part of the Assurance team at PwC Malaysia, where he was involved in the statutory audits of multinational corporations and KLSE-listed companies across various industries.

At Kairous, Khin Shen plays a key role in driving portfolio company performance by optimising financial reporting, supporting value creation and exit strategies, and collaborating with founders on growth and operational initiatives. He is passionate about helping startups scale efficiently and sustainablyand is particularly interested in technology-driven businesses. In the long term, he aims to deepen his expertise and contribute to building enduring, high-impact companies across the region.

SITI NUR AFIQAH

Localisation & Value Creation Manager

Siti Nur Afiqah is the Localisation & Value Creation Manager at Kairous Capital, where she focuses on supporting cross-border business setup and localisation initiatives for portfolio companies. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing, China. Her career began in operations and regulatory roles at Simplus Malaysia, followed by a position as Project and Corporate Governance Manager at TusStar Malaysia, where she developed a strong foundation in project execution and cross-border collaboration.

At Kairous, Siti plays a key role in delivering value through hands-on project management, company set-up support, and market localisation across Southeast Asia and Greater China. She continues to enhance her capabilities in managing cross-border operations and is expanding her proficiency in AI tools to support greater productivity and efficiency. With a focus on execution and long-term impact, she is dedicated to supporting the growth and operational success of Kairous’ portfolio companies.

JOHNSON LEE

Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships Manager

Prior to joining the PEVC industry, Johnson was a Senior Analyst at Rainmaking Innovation, a Europe-based corporate consultancy firm that ran corporate-startup innovation pilots under the MDEC programme in Malaysia. He later joined into the VC space as a Senior Associate at RHL Ventures, where he supported investment analysis and helped set up funds under Malaysia’s Penjana Kapital programme. Johnson graduated with a Bachelor of Finance and Investment from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology and received a merit-based scholarship in recognition of academic performance.

At Kairous Capital, Johnson leads strategic partnerships, managing fundraising strategies, investor engagement, and the setup of fund structures spanning Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He collaborates closely with institutional investors and the firm’s Partners to advance capital raising initiatives.  Johnson also drives stakeholder engagement and leads partnership development, building long-term synergies that enhance value for all stakeholders.

AQILAH ANUAR

Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships Associate

Aqilah Anuar is a Fundraising & Strategic Partnerships Associate at Kairous Capital. She holds a Bachelor of International Relations and Affairs from Peking University, China, where she developed a foundation in diplomacy and international cooperation. Her experience spans media, non-profit, and regional organisations, including Transparency International Malaysia, where she gained exposure to governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Her academic background also gave her insight into regional markets and cross-border dynamics—perspectives she continues to build on in her current role.

At Kairous, Aqilah supports fundraising and strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia, contributing to capital raising efforts from institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. She also manages media outreach and public relations, helping shape the firm’s communications in line with investor priorities. With a growing interest in capital markets, governance, and regional connectivity, she brings curiosity, adaptability, and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to the venture capital and private equity ecosystem.

LIANG TSAE YANN

Finance & Operations Director

Yann is the Finance & Operations Director at Kairous Capital, with nearly 20 years of comprehensive experience in finance and operations. Her career began in multinational corporations such as IBM, Japan Tobacco International (JTI), and LexisNexis, and later served as a Senior Accountant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), overseeing accounting functions for the Malaysia and Philippines offices. She specialises in financial planning and analysis, backed by a strong foundation in full-spectrum finance. Yann holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) from RMIT University and is a Certified Practicing Accountant  (CPA Australia) as well as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Yann joined Kairous Capital during its early start-up phase, where she played a crucial role in establishing its operational backbone. Beyond her finance responsibilities, she assumed leadership over office operations, compliance, and human capital management. Today, she oversees the entire operations of the firm, demonstrating a blend of strategic insight and operational discipline. Outside of work, Yann is passionate about the outdoors—she enjoys scuba diving, yoga, fitness, and travelling, which reflect her ongoing pursuit of balance and well-being.

How Sook Hoay is the Accounts Payable and Treasury Specialist at Kairous Capital, where she supports the firm’s financial operations and treasury management. With over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, she brings a strong foundation in accounts payable, reconciliation, and cash management. She began her career as a Bank Teller at Public Bank before joining The Bank of Nova Scotia Berhad, where she served for 18 years and advanced to the role of Accounting Officer. During her tenure, she developed a reputation for reliability, accuracy, and a deep understanding of banking systems and processes.

At Kairous, How is responsible for processing accounts payable, verifying and managing staff claims, performing bank reconciliations, and monitoring cash balances to ensure healthy liquidity. She is also building her expertise in treasury management, with a focus on liquidity planning, short-term cash forecasting, and maintaining strong banking relationships. Her meticulous approach and commitment to continuous learning make her an integral member of the finance team. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, exploring new cultures, and discovering unique cafés—pursuits that combine her love for adventure and appreciation of good coffee.

Senior Accountant

Anna Puah is the Senior Accountant at Kairous Capital, where she oversees fund accounting, financial reporting, and operational compliance across the firm’s investment vehicles. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Hons) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Prior to joining Kairous, she built her professional foundation in the corporate sector, gaining hands-on experience in accounting, tax, audit, and corporate compliance for nearly a decade, developing both technical depth and practical business understanding.

At Kairous, Anna aims to further broaden her exposure, particularly in fund management, investor reporting, and fund operations. Her transition into the private equity and venture capital industry reflects a strong interest in contributing to a dynamic, investment-focused environment, while continuing to grow professionally. Roziana Samin is the Office Operations Executive at Kairous Capital, bringing over five years of administrative experience spanning the education, software, and construction sectors. She holds a Certificate in Audio Visual (Mandarin) from National Taiwan Normal University and is fluent in both Mandarin and English. Known for her strengths in translation, multitasking, and operational coordination, Roziana ensures the seamless execution of daily operations in fast-paced and cross-cultural work environments.

At Kairous, Roziana plays a key role in managing office administration, coordinating internal and external meetings, supporting HR and finance processes, maintaining internal documentation, and liaising with vendors and service providers. She is committed to continuous improvement and contributes to enhancing operational efficiency and communication within the firm. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, camping, and exploring new cafes—activities that keep her inspired and refreshed.
